2023 District GOP Conventions

2023 NC GOP Vice Chairwoman Susan Mills

A letter from NC GOP Vice Chairwoman Susan Mills covering the recent County Conventions throughout the State (PDF).

March has been a very busy, but rewarding month! Attending County Conventions, meeting new friends, seeing old friends, and watching the passion everyone has for the Republican Party and the candidates of their choice. And I did this all while teaching in a public high school!

March has brought changes in many counties: new officers, a completely new board, and sometimes new challenges. But through all of the changes, we must remain dedicated to the Republican Party! Sometimes helping a person that was not our choice for leadership can be very difficult. Stepping up and lending a hand however is what will make our counties, district , state and nation strong. We talk about working across the aisle in Raleigh and in DC, but can we do that in our own party? Can we work with someone we agree with 80-90 percent of the time?

The answer to the above question MUST be yes! If we say no, then the Republican Party is on a very dangerous path. When you see the new chair or board struggling, ask how you can help. Volunteer to help with phone calls, to help with a fundraiser, to do whatever is necessary to relieve the struggle. Who knows you may make a new friend and help heal some battle scars at the same time!

Congratulations to all newly elected and re-elected officers and members at large! There is much work to be done to prepare for 2024. Just remember you are not out there alone. The NCGOP is here to help you!

Also thank you to all who went to county conventions! You are the ones that do the work and get our candidates elected. Without your passion and help, the Republican Party would not be successful!

Blessings,
Susan
